Last night the three olders decided to see the movie "Oceans 13" with their friends. They opted to walk to the movie theater since the littles were already in bed asleep. On their way home, one of our local police stopped them because they were out past curfew. They earned a free ride home since Megan is only 15 even though she was in the company of her 20 yr old brother and 17 1/2 yr old sister. For living where we do, I'm thankful for our local police force.
This morning, because we all got to bed in the wee hours, we didn't make it to mass. Wayne started his new job today! Even though it's only the first day, he is thrilled with his new working environment and the type of nursing he'll be doing. His previous job has been a major source of stress for the entire family. We're grateful this position became available when it did.....it's closer to home, more money and the kind of nursing Wayne wants to be doing. And they're willing to work with him in regards to attending nursing school.
Kaila, Megan, Emma, Matthew and I went to the bread thrift store and then to a local nursery to look for some plants I wanted for the front flower bed. They were out of the Butterfly bush I wanted but did have the Purple Cone Flower I wanted. After that I picked up lunch at McDonald's for the kids and we came home.
The weather for the past several days as been SIMPLY GLORIOUS!! We've had the windows open and I've been hanging lots of wash on the line. The kids have been playing outside a lot and I even managed to get in a walk last night.
After Wayne got home we originally planned to go out to dinner and a movie. We opted to get DVD's from the library since the movie we wanted to see only had a late showing and neither of us felt like staying up that late.

4 courteous remarks:
Sounds like a great day Michelle. Is Wayne and LPN or an RN with an associates working toward a bachelors?
Teresa,
Wayne's been an LPN for 20 years. While we were in Hawai'i he was enrolled in the BSN program at HPU but we were transferred here before he could finish.
Even with the V.A. paying for Wayne's education, we couldn't afford for him to go to school because of the loss of his income. Now that we paid off our bills everything is falling into place. Wayne will be starting school in May of next year and he should graduate 14 months later.
That is great Michelle.
One of the scrub techs that works with us is also former military. She gets reimbursed by the VA and the hospital for her classes.
I'm soo excited for Wayne and his new job... Glad to hear everything is going so wonderfully!
